Black Friday has become a highlight of peak trading period. Last year Salmon correctly predicted Black Friday 2015 as the UK’s first £1bn+ shopping day, and this year is set to be a £5bn, five-day extravaganza.

However as Qubit’s latest research uncovered, retailers are still wary of the long-term impact discount season is having on their businesses. Results across industries vary greatly, some are choosing to opt out altogether, and one-third of retailers claim Black Friday is ‘unprofitable and unsustainable’.
